The Importance of Using BCBS Mental Health Coverage for Treatment

Although outpatient treatment programs like those at The Berman Center are often less expensive than inpatient treatment programs, it’s essential that you do not overlook the importance of using BCBS mental health coverage for treatment if you need or would like help paying for mental health care. Here are some of the benefits of using your BCBS health insurance plan to cover the cost of our programs.

  • Financial relief: Many individuals and families are not able to cover the cost of mental health treatment out of pocket. By using your BCBS health insurance plan, you can reduce or eliminate treatment costs, which will help you save money and may facilitate a sense of financial relief.
  • The ability to focus on recovery: Without the need to concentrate on paying for mental health services, insurance coverage ensures that you have the ability to focus on recovery and healing while in treatment.
  • Improved long-term health outcomes: Research shows that mental health treatment is effective and that the symptoms of mental health conditions can improve through evidence-based methods like therapy and medication management. Caring for your mental health is a critical part of overall well-being and may lead to improved long-term health outcomes.

OUR PROGRAMS

Mental Health Programs Covered by BCBS Insurance at The Berman Center

Finding quality care for mental health concerns matters. You can use your BCBS mental health coverage to pay for the cost of any and all of the treatment programs The Berman Center has to offer. With that in mind, here’s a little bit about what to expect in each of the mental health programs covered by BCBS insurance at The Berman Center.

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

Our adult partial hospitalization program (PHP) meets five days per week (Monday-Friday) from 10 AM to 3:30 PM. Lunch is provided at 1-1:30 PM for PHP clients, when those in a lower level of care leave for the day. As a PHP client at The Berman Center, you will participate in a blend of effective treatments, including but not limited to daily groups and once-weekly individual therapy sessions. Since PHP provides immersive mental health treatment, it is a common starting level of care for clients at The Berman Center. After about four weeks of PHP, clients transition into our intensive outpatient program for continued care for about six weeks. This means that your treatment process at The Berman Center should take about ten weeks in total.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

The adult intensive outpatient program (IOP) at The Berman Center meets a few days per week from 10 AM to 1 PM. Due to the lower time commitment required for adult IOP at The Berman Center, clients like you or your loved one will be more able to balance work or other responsibilities with treatment. Although clients in PHP transition into our IOP after four weeks in the program, IOP can also be used as a starting level of care for some clients. Before you start treatment at The Berman Center, we will help you decide on the proper starting level of care for your situation.

Teen Therapy

In addition to our adult PHP and IOP treatment options, The Berman Center has an outpatient teen therapy program called IGNITE. Like our adult PHP and IOP, it is covered by most insurance plans. The teen therapy program at The Berman Center welcomes clients aged 14-18. Lasting for about ten weeks, most teens in IGNITE can continue pursuing school while participating in the program. We will work with your child’s school to ensure that they stay up-to-date with their assignments during treatment, and if they need to take time away from classes for their mental health, we can help.

Mental Health Treatment

Our Atlanta-based center offers mental health treatment for an assortment of mental health concerns and conditions. These include but are not limited to trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), grief, self-harm, depression, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety, and personality disorders.

Drug Addiction Treatment

Substance use disorders are a kind of mental health condition characterized by the compulsive use of substances and other symptoms, such as drug and alcohol cravings. Drug addiction treatment is cost-effective, and it is strongly recommended that insurance companies pay for it. The Berman Center offers drug addiction treatment covered by many types of health insurance.

Dual Diagnosis Treatment

Many people with a substance use disorder have one or more co-occurring mental health concerns. Repeatedly, research shows that dual diagnosis or integrated treatment leads to positive outcomes in individuals facing substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. For example, improved quality of life, reduced or discontinued substance abuse, and better symptom management of both disorders. In addition to our standalone mental health and drug rehab services, The Berman Center proudly offers dual diagnosis treatment.
