The Importance of Using Cigna Mental Health Coverage for Treatment
Mental health and addiction treatment programs like those at The Berman Center are essential, life-changing healthcare services. If you are a Cigna policyholder, utilizing your health insurance coverage for these services matters and can make a difference in the ease of your treatment experience. Factors illustrating the importance of using Cigna mental health coverage for treatment include but aren’t limited to the following.
- Reduced financial strain: Although outpatient programs like those at The Berman Center are typically less expensive than inpatient treatment services, they can still be expensive without assistance. Using your Cigna mental health coverage to help cover the cost of treatment can save you money and lead to reduced financial strain.
- The ability to focus on healing: When your treatment costs are covered by Cigna insurance, you will have the ability to focus on healing rather than paying for therapy services.
- Treatment access: Many individuals and families in need of mental health services are not able to cover the cost of care out-of-pocket. If that is the case for you, choosing a center that accepts your Cigna insurance plan will increase your treatment access and make getting help possible.
We strive to make treatment accessible for individuals and families, and part of that mission is cutting any worries about the cost of treatment out of the picture. When you call our admissions line at 678-589-4962, we can verify your Cigna insurance coverage for treatment in a few minutes or less.

Mental Health Programs Covered by Cigna at The Berman Center
The Berman Center treats mental health, addiction, and dual-diagnosis disorders in teens and adults. Here’s a little bit about what to expect in the mental health programs covered by Cigna at The Berman Center.
Our partial hospitalization program (PHP) for adults aged 18+ meets Monday-Friday from 10 AM to 3:30 PM. While in PHP at The Berman Center, you will participate in a blend of evidence-based therapies, including daily groups and once-weekly individual therapy. Lunch is provided daily at 1 PM. Clients entering our PHP as a starting level of care are encouraged to participate in the program for about four weeks, followed by six weeks of our intensive outpatient program.
The intensive outpatient program (IOP) for adults aged 18+ at The Berman Center meets three days per week, from 10 AM to 1 PM. Our adult intensive outpatient program provides more time for work and other responsibilities than PHP, so it is an ideal option for clients who need to balance their jobs with treatment or who are stepping down from PHP.
In addition to our adult PHP and IOP treatment options, The Berman Center has an outpatient teen therapy program covered by most insurance plans. We know from research that early intervention is important for mental health and addiction-related concerns in teens and young adults. By getting teen therapy at The Berman Center, your child will be equipped with the coping skills, tools, and strategies they need for long-term success.
Our teen therapy program welcomes clients aged 14-18. It lasts about ten weeks, and most teens can stay in school while participating in the program. We will work with your child’s school to ensure they stay up-to-date with their schoolwork while in treatment.
Our mental health treatment programs address a variety of standalone mental health disorders and related concerns in adults and teens. Conditions and concerns treated in mental health PHP and IOP at The Berman Center include but aren’t limited to the following.
- Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and trauma
- Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
- Schizophrenia
- Personality disorders
- Depression
- Bipolar disorder
- Anxiety disorders
We also work with grief, self-harm, and other challenges. Please call The Berman Center if you do not see the concern you need treatment for listed on our website. Our team can determine whether the programs at The Berman Center are the right fit for you.
Substance use disorders are mental health conditions characterized by the compulsive use of substances, drug and alcohol cravings, and other symptoms. Our drug addiction treatment programs (both PHP and IOP), covered by Cigna, treat most to all types of substance abuse.
In addition to offering standalone mental health or addiction treatment, The Berman Center offers dual-diagnosis PHP and IOP for those experiencing substance abuse and one or more co-occurring mental health concerns. Research repeatedly shows that dual-diagnosis treatment is associated with better outcomes for those facing addiction and co-occurring disorders. For example, improved quality of life and reduced or discontinued substance use.
