WE'RE HERE FOR YOU
Learn About Addiction Treatment
When you attend outpatient addiction treatment in Atlanta, you will receive therapy and other treatment and return home at night. This means you can participate in daily programs that can work around other commitments.
When you begin addiction treatment you will probably need to detox first with FDA-approved medications for alcohol addiction. Before embarking on the rest of your therapy, there are many options for detox services at local hospitals or treatment facilities. After detox, our outpatient addiction treatment center is here to help.
We can help with your recovery. Call our team to schedule a tour and confirm your insurance benefits.
What to Expect at an Atlanta Addiction Treatment Center
When you first reach out for Atlanta addiction treatment, you can expect to undergo an initial evaluation, potentially start detox if you are still physically addicted, and proceed through the recommended outpatient program for your circumstances.
When you call, our admissions line will give you information about our programs and discuss the cost of the program we recommend. We’ll also review your insurance benefits and see how much coverage applies to those costs. If you’re ready, you can schedule a tour and move forward with your full evaluation.
A big part of this full evaluation is determining which program would be the best fit. We will ask some initial questions about your situation, physical and mental health, and family history of addiction. This evaluation also helps us determine which combination of therapies would most likely help you succeed.
Detox is an important initial step before starting any Atlanta addiction treatment. You can go to alcohol treatment centers in Atlanta based for FDA-approved medication-assisted treatment specifically for alcoholism or similar hospitals in the local area for drug addiction detox.
Once you have completed detox, it’s time to proceed with your recommended outpatient program. We offer two levels of adult outpatient care: PHP and IOP.
PHP is longer at our facility. Our adult programs require you to meet at our Atlanta addiction treatment center five days per week from 10:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. As you fulfill your obligations and reach your recovery goals, you’ll transition into IOP, which only meets three days per week from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. During these sessions, we will provide access to individual and group therapy like experiential therapy, psychoeducation, CBT, and DBT.
Once you complete your program, you have the opportunity to continue benefiting from our alumni programs. We have alumni programs for adults and teenagers, which meet monthly for The Berman Center.
Call our admissions team to learn more about the activities we offer.

Therapies for Addiction Treatment in Atlanta, Georgia
So, what can you expect from our program? As it is an outpatient program, you can expect to attend meetings during the day. Below are our methods of therapy at our drug and alcohol addiction treatment center in Atlanta:
With The Berman Center, you will have biweekly individual counseling sessions where you meet with a therapist individually in a safe, supportive environment. If you have untreated trauma in addition to addiction, these sessions will take into account trauma therapy needs.
The Berman Center offers family therapy sessions every other week and two virtual family groups per week. One family session is a multi-family process group, and the other is a skills-based group. These can be weaved into your addiction recovery plan during regularly scheduled services. Other family members participating in the therapy can visit our Atlanta addiction treatment center during designated times.
Group therapy sessions comprise most of your services with addiction treatment in Atlanta, GA based. If you are interested in alcohol treatment centers, Atlanta facilities like The Berman Center can offer cognitive behavioral therapy sessions where you have an opportunity to work with a group to examine your recurring thoughts and subsequent actions. During these sessions, you can learn to recognize and replace these harmful behaviors with coping skills to prevent a relapse.
If you are interested in drug addiction treatment, Atlanta facilities like The Berman Center can provide access to mindfulness and meditation services, art therapy, and yoga. Mindfulness, meditation, and yoga all complement one another in terms of helping you stay grounded in the present moment. Too often, in recovery, people are focused on the mistakes of the past or the worries about the future. With meditation, yoga, and mindfulness, you have the chance to focus on the present and be aware of your emotions. These emotions don’t have to control you or your actions; rather, they can be viewed as temporary.
